This summer in Monroe, Wisconsin, a new theme has been released. Woodcarvings by local artist Zoli will appear around the Historic downtown square, and a wooden pirate ship has been built on the South lawn of the Green County Courthouse. The Pirate Theme is visible in many of the store windows surrounding the square as well.

Well, this year Spring is here too early. We have had way too many flowers in the yard come up and bloom out before they should even be starting to show any growth, and on top of that we keep having frost overnight that could end the flower season at any time.

I saw a post on the Pentax forums today about the Manfrotto #234 Monopod head. A person was asking about using the head with a quick release plate that required a 3/8″ x 16 thread instead of the 1/4″ x 20 thread that is on the #234 head. Saturday was a chilly spring day with overcast skies, but that didn’t stop us from taking a few pictures.
We shot a bunch downtown of some buildings that haven’t been used in many years. The older buildings are in bad shape, but they still hold on to building styles that are not used in modern construction, and the beauty is hiding among the rubble.
